Agartala, July 17: Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Friday appealed to people across the state to actively participate in Census 2027, urging every household to complete the newly introduced online self-enumeration process to ensure accurate data for the country’s future planning and development.
Launching the self-enumeration portal for India’s first fully digital Census, the Governor said he had already submitted his own details online before attending the programme and encouraged citizens to follow suit.
“I have completed my self-enumeration before coming here. I request everyone—from the Chief Secretary to Anganwadi workers, from Vice-Chancellors to primary school teachers, and from managing directors of private companies to employees—to participate in this important national exercise and make it a success,” he said.
The Governor said the self-enumeration facility enables citizens to submit their household details conveniently using smartphones, computers or other internet-enabled devices from their homes.
He also urged college students and other digitally literate persons to help their parents and family members complete the online process.
Describing the census as a crucial national exercise, he said accurate information collected through the census serves as the foundation for policy formulation, infrastructure development, welfare schemes and future planning.
He also advised citizens not to worry if they were unable to complete every field in the online form, saying any remaining details could be verified and updated when enumerators visit households during the House Listing Operation beginning August 1.
Appealing for public cooperation, the Governor urged residents to welcome enumerators and provide correct information to ensure the successful completion of the country’s first fully digital census.
