Agartala, September 11: The proposed Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Children’s Park near Kalyanpur School is progressing with construction and beautification work underway, bringing a new recreational facility closer to completion for local residents.
Kalyanpur-Pramodnagar MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury inspected the site on Monday and reviewed the status of the project. He examined the ongoing works and took an update on the activities still pending before the park can be opened. Asim Deb Roy and others accompanied him during the visit.
The upcoming facility is aimed at providing children with a dedicated venue for outdoor recreation in the locality. The park is expected to offer youngsters a suitable place for leisure and outdoor activities once the construction is completed.
The facility is also being developed with the wider community in mind. Families and residents are expected to have access to an additional public space where they can spend leisure time, while the park’s beautification is likely to enhance the appearance of the surrounding area.
The project seeks to address the shortage of dedicated recreational spaces for children in Kalyanpur. The availability of an accessible outdoor facility is expected to encourage children to spend more time in recreational activities and provide families with another community-oriented space.
During the inspection, the MLA assessed both the construction progress and the finishing work required at the site. The remaining activities are expected to be completed at the earliest, following which the park will be made available to the public.
The inauguration of the facility is planned after the completion of the pending works. Once operational, the park is expected to become an important recreational amenity for children and families in the locality.
The project is part of efforts to expand public amenities and improve the overall environment in Kalyanpur. With work continuing at the site, residents are awaiting the completion and opening of the park for community use.
