Agartala, September 11: A new salary account arrangement between Punjab National Bank (PNB) and the Tripura government will provide permanent state government employees with a range of insurance, healthcare, banking and credit-related benefits.
The scheme was introduced following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Tripura Finance Department Secretary Dr Parshant Kumar Goyal and PNB General Manager and Guwahati Zone Zonal Head Bijender Singh.
PNB Agartala DGM and Circle Head Rituraj Krishna and CAC Head Alok Priydarshi attended the signing ceremony.
PNB said the customised salary package has been developed for different salary categories and combines conventional banking facilities with insurance protection and financial assistance.
Among the major benefits is Personal Accidental Death Insurance of up to Rs 1.50 crore. The package also provides Air Accidental Insurance cover of up to Rs 3 crore and Permanent Total Disability cover of up to Rs 1.50 crore.
Employees will also have access to provisions related to higher education, girl-child marriage and emergency financial requirements, according to the bank.
The salary accounts will be available without a minimum balance requirement. Health and wellness services under the package include cashless annual health check-ups, tele-consultation and hospicash facilities.
An instant overdraft facility will also be available, allowing employees to draw up to twice their average net salary, subject to a maximum limit of Rs 2 lakh.
The banking package includes free and unlimited Demand Drafts and cheque books. Employees will also receive locker concessions and a waiver of annual maintenance charges for Demat accounts, in accordance with applicable conditions.
The scheme has provisions for family members as well. Eligible relatives can open zero-balance family accounts and access specified insurance benefits and free transaction facilities.
PNB will additionally extend preferential benefits to participating employees for housing, vehicle, education and personal loans. RuPay debit and credit card facilities will also be included.
The bank said the partnership is designed to offer a unified financial services package to Tripura government employees and their families, bringing salary banking, insurance, healthcare and lending facilities within a single customised framework.
