Agartala: Mar 27: Over two hundred voters from the opposition camp joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. On Wednesday, 207 voters from 42 families left the CPIM, Congress and Trinamool Congress to join the BJP. On this day, these voters joined the BJP party through this joining meeting organized at the state BJP office.
State BJP vice-president Tapash Bhattacharya, Janjati Morcha vice-president Vidyut Debbarma, BJP leader Jayalal Das and others were present. The BJP leaders present at the joining meeting handed over the party cards to the newcomers and accepted them into the BJP fold. Provincial BJP vice-president Tapas Bhattacharya said in an interview that today 207 voters from 42 families from different parts of the state left the opposition and joined the BJP. They have expressed interest in working for the BJP party, he said.
