Agartala, February 27: Amidst the Opposition TIPRA Motha’s aggressive stance against the government, the ruling BJP in Tripura is intensifying efforts to solidify its position in all 20 Scheduled Tribe (ST) reserved seats.
BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee affirmed this strategy on Tuesday, stating that the party is actively working to bolster its presence in these constituencies based on feedback from observers who have conducted on-ground assessments.
Speaking to reporters during a review meeting of the BJP tribal wing Janajati Morch at its headquarters in Agartala, Bhattacharjee emphasized the party’s commitment to enhancing its standing in ST reserved seats.
He highlighted the importance of gathering accurate information from grassroots levels to ensure effective strategies for strengthening the BJP’s position.
The meeting was attended by senior tribal leaders and Parimal Debbarma, former MLA and chief of Janajati Morch.
Bhattacharjee reiterated the BJP’s dedication to serving the indigenous communities and promoting Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, citing significant development initiatives and the benefits accruing to tribal people through government schemes.
Expressing confidence in garnering support from indigenous voters in the upcoming parliamentary elections, Bhattacharjee underscored the need to amplify awareness about government schemes and their positive impact on tribal communities.
He stressed the importance of targeted outreach efforts to ensure that the benefits of developmental programs reach the intended beneficiaries.
As TIPRA Motha ramps up its agitation, the BJP’s proactive measures to consolidate its position in ST reserved seats indicate the intensifying political landscape in Tripura.
With both parties vying for support among tribal communities, the upcoming elections are poised to witness heightened competition as each seeks to secure a foothold in these crucial constituencies.
