Agartala, December 29: Congress foundation day celebrations in Tripura with focus strengthening party’s organization at all levels
Along with the whole nation, the Tripura Pradesh Congress is actively celebrating the 139th foundation day of the Congress party in the state.
On Thursday, Asish Kumar Saha, president of Tripura Pradesh Congress, ceremoniously unfurled the party flag at the Congress headquarters in Agartala.
The event witnessed the presence of senior leaders like MLA Gopal Chandra Roy, Sudip Roy Barman, and various organizational heads and office bearers.
During the celebration, participants took a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by Congress leaders during India’s freedom struggle and their contributions to the nation’s development.
State President Saha emphasized the pivotal role played by the party and its leaders in fortifying democracy and the constitutional system.
He expressed concerns about the current challenges faced by these fundamental principles and urged for the further strengthening of the Congress party.
The Congress leaders also paid their respects to the late BJP MLA at Gandhighat through a floral tribute.
Meanwhile, in a gesture of condolence, Saha expressed his sorrow over the demise of former Congressman and at present BJP MLA Surajit Datta, acknowledging his significant roles as a Minister, MLA, and party president in Tripura.
He viewed that Datta was very popular in the state and known for helping the people especially the poor and needy.
