Agartala, December 3:
Hundreds of Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and officials took part in a spirited bike rally on Tuesday, organised to celebrate the diamond jubilee of the force and to spread the message of nationalism among the public. The rally also aimed to encourage young people to join India’s premier border-guarding organisation.
The event was officially flagged off from Sal Bagan by A.K. Gupta, IG of BSF Tripura Frontier. Addressing the gathering, Gupta said the rally, which concluded at Gakulnagar, was a tribute to the BSF’s 60 years of unwavering service to the nation. He added that such initiatives help foster pride in the force and motivate youth to consider a career in the BSF, where they can take part in safeguarding the nation’s borders.
Tripura, which shares an 856 km-long international border with Bangladesh, is guarded by 18 battalions of the BSF. Over the decades, the force has been instrumental in curbing infiltration, smuggling and other cross-border crimes, ensuring stability and security across the state.
The rally, featuring riders holding the national flag and wearing BSF insignia, attracted significant attention from residents along the route. The vibrant procession not only showcased the strength and discipline of the BSF but also served as a public outreach event to reinforce the importance of border security.
Officials highlighted that such programmes help build a stronger connection between the force and local communities while reminding people of the sacrifices made by BSF personnel to maintain peace along India’s frontiers.
The diamond jubilee celebrations across the country mark six decades of the BSF’s establishment, honouring its contributions in protecting the nation’s territorial integrity and responding to various security challenges over the years.
