Agartala, Oct 9 (PTI): Tripura minister Sudhangshu Das on Friday reviewed the implementation of welfare schemes and development projects in Khowai district, stressing the need for timely delivery of benefits to eligible beneficiaries and faster execution of ongoing initiatives.
The district-level review meeting was held at the conference hall of the Khowai District Magistrate’s office and attended by officials of the Animal Resources Development Department, Fisheries Department and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department.
Das, who oversees the three departments, assessed the progress of various schemes and development programmes being implemented during the 2026-27 financial year.
During the meeting, the minister examined whether beneficiaries enrolled under different government programmes were receiving assistance, services and other benefits within the stipulated timeframe.
The discussions focused on strengthening monitoring at the grassroots level and ensuring that government welfare initiatives reach their intended recipients without unnecessary delays, officials said.
Representatives of the three departments presented updates on ongoing schemes, development projects and their implementation status. The minister reviewed the reports and discussed measures to improve the effectiveness of the programmes and ensure better delivery of public services.
Particular emphasis was laid on identifying administrative bottlenecks, improving coordination among departments and resolving procedural issues that could delay assistance to eligible beneficiaries.
Das also held detailed discussions with officials on measures to expedite development projects being implemented by the three departments across the district.
He stressed the importance of completing projects within the prescribed timelines and maintaining effective supervision to ensure that the objectives of government initiatives translate into tangible benefits for residents.
The meeting highlighted the need for administrative efficiency, regular monitoring and accountability in implementing welfare schemes and development programmes.
Officials were asked to maintain close coordination and strengthen field-level supervision to identify implementation-related challenges and take timely corrective measures.
The review also focused on improving the pace of ongoing projects and ensuring that resources allocated for various schemes are utilised effectively to achieve their intended objectives.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on strengthening oversight of departmental initiatives and ensuring the timely delivery of public services across Khowai district.
The exercise forms part of the state government’s efforts to review the implementation of welfare programmes, improve administrative coordination and accelerate development activities during the current financial year.
