Agartala: Dec 12: There is an ongoing crisis in Bangladesh, with minorities being persecuted and many fleeing the country. In response, a Bangladeshi organization, BNP, conducted a long march up to the Akhaura border on Wednesday, leading to heightened tensions at the India-Bangladesh international border.
Both the border security forces and state police, including TSR and CRPF, are maintaining a strict vigil on the border situation. A similar scene was observed in the Bilonia India-Bangladesh border areas on Thursday, with strict surveillance in place. The situation along the entire border remains tense.
According to the police administration, in addition to strict security measures, police and TSR forces are also monitoring the Bilonia international border. Around 12:30 PM on Thursday, police and TSR forces were seen patrolling the barbed wire border areas of Bilonia Kalinagar, Giridhari Char Nang Bridge, Sarada Sima, and Tripura Bazar. This area is adjacent to the border town of Bilonia. The patrolling and surveillance are being conducted to alleviate the fear among the people regarding the situation in both countries.
Facing the media, Bilonia Sub-Divisional Police Officer Abhijit Das stated that such patrolling will continue.
