Agartala September 11: The top administrative level officers in the state are mainly recruited through the Central Civil Services and Tripura Civil Services Examinations. Through the IAS examination, these officers are also working in various ministries of the central government. They are recruited through Central Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC.
Other Central Group A and Group B officers including IAS, IFS and IPS are also recruited through this examination. But limited number of candidates from Tripura state can crack central civil services exam. Hence, the government has taken up a scheme to provide Chief Minister’s scholarship called ‘Lakshya’ to encourage the youth of the state to appear in the central civil service examination conducted by UPSC. In 2019, this scheme called ‘Lakshya’ was launched by the present government. On Monday, the Chief Minister handed over the benefits of the scheme to several youths at the official residence. These include Joy Debnath of Shantir Bazar, Victor Debbarma of Agartala and Jyotiman Chakma. The Chief Minister said that to come under this scheme, candidates who are permanent residents of Tripura are given scholarships to clear the civil service examination conducted by UPSC. 5 lakhs if you pass the preliminary exam in the first stage and 20 thousand taka if you pass the main exam in the second stage. For this the children must be a permanent resident of Tripura to take the civil services exam conducted by UPSC. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed the hope that the children will be more motivated in this examination.
