Agartala: Dec 12. Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institute (RUDSETI) has conducted a special training programme on piggery under the UNNATI project that intends to provide skill based training to MGNREGA workers for creation of better livelihood opportunities for the unskilled persons. The ten-day training that started on December 03 last culminated today. Speaking on the issue, Director of RUDESETI John Paul Debbarma said, “The trainees have been selected through the rural development block. Our best faculty members imparted training to the participants. All the trainees are from Teliamura’s Nabanjoy Para under Mungiakami block. Under the UNNATI project, those people are selected for skill training who have already worked for 100 days in MGNREGA to upscale their output. Based on the demand, Piggery has been selected for their training”. According to Debbarma, Dr Subrata Sukla Das of Animal Resource Development Department also attended the event and distributed certificates among the trainees who have successfully underwent the training.
