Agartala: Nov 11: In the first phase, 100 schools were brought under Vidyajyoti schools in the state. This special scheme is mainly undertaken for the overall development of the schools and improvement of the quality of education. However, schools in several assembly constituencies are not covered under the Vidyajyoti Mission scheme. That is why the state government decided in the budget to bring 25 more schools under the Vidyajyoti Mission School scheme. Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced the names of 25 more new schools at a press conference in Mahakaran on Friday. He also announced the names of the assembly constituencies. Reading will start in these schools from the academic year 2023-24.
Currently, the total number of schools in Vidyajyoti Mission is 125. He also said that so far 90 people have been sent abroad through the Super Thirty scheme of the state government. The results of the first batch have already been released. Out of the 30 students of the first batch, 24 got opportunities for higher education in various institutions. The remaining 6 will try for the second time. But as per the policy of this scheme the state government provides one time financial assistance. So they will not get this financial assistance for the second time. The minister also said that the state government had decided to start MA courses in English and Bengali from the current academic year in six degree colleges.
Accordingly, MA courses will be started in six universities from November 15. Out of these six universities, four universities are under Tripura University and two universities are under MBB University. The course will be launched centrally in Mahila Mahavidyalaya on November 15. 98 out of 100 seats for English subject and 95 out of 100 seats for Bengali were admitted in six universities. He also said that before March 9, 2018, those who were killed in political terrorism were asked to apply to the government if their families did not have government jobs.
A committee was formed accordingly. So far 26 applications have been submitted to the committee. A notification to this effect was issued on 23 December 2020. The constituted committee met four times. According to the recommendations of the committee, so far eight people have got jobs in different departments. Out of these 7 got in Information Culture Department and one in Education Department. The applications of three were rejected. Seven applications have been sent for review. The committee has re-recommended the application of seven people. Two applications are still pending. Five persons will be appointed for the degree college and one assistant professor for the law college, he said. Finally, Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that 1482 offers have been released for GT posts. He said that the file has been sent to the finance department seeking approval for filling up more vacancies.
