Agartala: May 21: BJP state President Benjamin Yepthomi, Deputy Chief Minister Y.Patton and a host of BJP Legislators are currently camping in Delhi awaiting the decision of the BJP high command for the upcoming ULB elections.
The BJP delegation held meetings with BJP National President and other senior party leaders yesterday wherein, the delegation also shared their opinion for the ULB Polls.
A senior BJP party leadee informed that the delegation have suggested that as per the pre poll 40-20 seat sharing between NDPP and BJP, in the ULB too it will apply the same seat arrangements.
“Out of the 40 seats in which NDPP won in the 2023 state general elections BJP will not contest likewise, out of the 20 seats in which BJP won NDPP will not contest in those seats,” said the senior leader adding that the remaining seats will be shared among other political parties under the PDA government.
The delegation prior leaving for New Delhi also held a meeting with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and NDPP leaders where they have agreed for such arrangement however, the senior leader said that this is only a suggestion made by the state bjp Legislators and party workers to the party high command and the final decision will be taken by the high command.
