Agartala, April 18: As security measures along the 856 km border with Bangladesh ahead of upcoming Lok Sabha Poll that the state shares have been significantly reinforced.
The heightened security protocols come ahead of the upcoming election for the West Tripura parliamentary constituency, scheduled for April 19.
Given Tripura’s geographical proximity to Bangladesh which surrounds the state from three sides, securing the border is of paramount importance to prevent any potential disruptions during the electoral process.
To this end, day and night vigilance has been intensified, with additional patrols deployed along the border.
The objective is twofold: first, to thwart any attempts of infiltration from across the border that could potentially disrupt the election proceedings, and second, to create a conducive environment for peaceful polling.
By ensuring robust security measures, authorities aim to instill confidence among voters, enabling them to cast their ballots without fear or intimidation.
The comprehensive security arrangements underscore the government’s commitment to upholding the democratic process and ensuring that every eligible voter can exercise their right to vote freely and safely.
As the election draws nearer, the focus remains on maintaining vigilance and readiness to address any security challenges that may arise.
