Agartala: Mar 19: In a press conference held at the conference hall of the District Magistrate’s office in West Tripura district, Chief Electoral Officer Puneet Agarwal announced that the official notification for the 1-Tripura West Lok Sabha seat has been issued today. As per the notification, the process of submission of nomination papers will commence immediately.
Nomination papers can be submitted until March 27, 2024,the scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on March 28, 2024,withdrawal of Nominations: Candidates can withdraw their nominations until March 30, 2024,the election for the Tripura West seat is scheduled for April 19, 2024,voting Hours: Polling will be conducted from 7 am to 5 pm.
Additionally, Chief Electoral Officer Agarwal also announced that the election notification for the 2-Tripura East (ST) parliamentary seat will be issued on March 28, 2024. Candidates can submit their nomination papers until April 4, 2024, Nomination papers will be scrutinized on April 5, 2024, Withdrawal of Nominations: The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is April 8, 2024, Polling Date: Voting for the Tripura East seat will take place on April 26, 2024, from 7 AM to 5 PM.
The Chief Election Officer also provided an update on voter statistics. While the final voter list published on January 5, 2024, indicated 28,56,925 voters in the state, the ongoing amendment process has increased the total number of voters to 28,57,996 as of March 14, 2024, Male Voters: 14,35,491, Female Voters: 14,22,435, Third Gender Voters: 70
For the West Tripura parliamentary seat, there are a total of 14,62,875 voters, including 7,33,842 male voters and 7,28,977 female voters. In the East Tripura Parliamentary Constituency, there are 13,95,121 voters, comprising 7,01,649 male voters and 93,458 female voters.
