Agartala: Nov 28: The Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated 101 banking correspondence branches of Tripura Grameen Bank virtually on Monday. Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Tripura Grameen Bank Chairman Satyendra Singh and other officials were present at the inauguration ceremony from the official residence of Chief Minister. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that Tripura Grameen Bank is providing services to common people in rural areas.
At the same time, Tripura Grameen Bank is working towards the development of rural finance policy. Earlier they had 222 correspondent banking and have 33 branches. At present 101 new banking correspondence branches have been opened, the total number will be 498 branches. By doing this, customers will get many banking benefits. Newly 22 Banking Correspondence Branches have been opened in West District, 14 in Sipahijala District, 12 in Gomati, 16 in South Tripura, 9 in Dhalai, 16 in Khowai, 7 in North Tripura, 5 in Unkoti District. Grameen Bank was started in 1976. At present, Tripura is standing in fear of Grameen Bank, said the Chief Minister. The chief minister also said that as a result of this service, the financial development of the rural areas will be much more.
