Agartala June 6: A foreign vehicle with a large quantity of dried cannabis was seized by the Ambassa police on the eve of smuggling. According to the details of the incident, a container vehicle was parked in Kathalbari area of Assam-Agartala National Highway since morning. The vehicle bearing number HR-38Y-2025 was noticed by police personnel on patrol. The police personnel are suspicious of this.
Immediately, the police of Ambassa police station was informed about this. Later the police of Ambassa Police Station rushed to the spot under the leadership of Sub Divisional Police Officer. While searching the car, the police found a secret chamber. Next the secret chamber of the container car is cut with a cutting machine.
A large quantity of dried cannabis was recovered from that secret chamber. Meanwhile, Dhalai District Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident. He said that 897 kg of ganja was recovered in 54 packets. The market value of recovered Gaza will be approximately two crore taka. He also said that a special campaign is being launched to make Tripura drug free. Anti-drug campaign is going on every day as part of that campaign. However, today the police recovered the car with ganja but could not arrest anyone.
