The Patient Welfare Committee of GB Hospital convened on Wednesday, with MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, the Committee Chairman, emphasizing the urgent need to enhance patient services and strengthen overall healthcare delivery at the state-run facility. The meeting brought together senior officials, including the Health Secretary, as well as doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff.
During the session, the committee conducted a comprehensive review of key hospital operations, covering emergency care, medical service efficiency, medicine supply, sanitation, and infrastructure management. Officials discussed gaps in service delivery and deliberated on measures to improve patient experience and safety.
Chairman Sarkar stressed that healthcare must remain patient-centric, transparent, and humane, with particular attention to ensuring dignity and accessibility for all patients. She highlighted the importance of close coordination between hospital administration, medical staff, and health workers to achieve these objectives, urging a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
