An important awareness initiative on the VB-G RAM G Act was undertaken in the Mohanpur Assembly constituency on Friday, aimed at educating local residents about the new legislation designed to strengthen rural development through enhanced transparency and accountability.
The programme was organised in the presence of local representatives, community leaders and officials, and featured detailed discussions on the objectives, benefits and practical implementation of the Act. Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath addressed the gathering and explained how the VB-G RAM G Act is intended to empower rural communities by ensuring that development schemes and government benefits reach people at the grassroots level in a timely and transparent manner.
Speaking at the event, Minister Nath described the Act as a path-breaking initiative that would make rural governance more dynamic, participatory and responsive. He emphasised that transparency forms the core of the legislation, which aims to streamline administrative processes, minimise irregularities and strengthen monitoring mechanisms at the village level.
“The VB-G RAM G Act has been framed to ensure accountability in the implementation of rural development schemes. It will help eliminate loopholes, promote fairness and ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives the benefits meant for them,” the minister said.
The awareness drive witnessed active participation from local residents, who interacted with officials to gain a clearer understanding of how the Act would impact their daily lives. Questions were raised regarding the implementation process, grievance redressal mechanisms and the role of local bodies, which were addressed in detail by the authorities present.
Organisers said such outreach programmes are crucial to bridging the gap between policy formulation and public understanding. By directly engaging with citizens, the government aims to create awareness about reforms and encourage community participation in monitoring development works.
The programme concluded with a call for collective responsibility, urging villagers to actively cooperate in implementing the provisions of the Act to ensure inclusive and sustainable rural development in the Mohanpur constituency.
