The Assam Rifles organised a vibrant “Run for Fun” programme at Radhanagar on Tuesday to commemorate Vijay Diwas, celebrating India’s historic victory in the 1971 war. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Assam Rifles personnel, local residents and students, reflecting a strong spirit of patriotism, unity and respect for the nation’s armed forces.
The run was organised with the objective of creating awareness, especially among the youth and the local community, about the significance of Vijay Diwas. It also aimed to honour the courage, sacrifice and valour of the Indian Armed Forces, whose decisive role in the 1971 war led to one of India’s most significant military victories.
Participants took part in the run with great zeal and energy, carrying the national flag and raising slogans that celebrated national pride, unity and the bravery of Indian soldiers.
