A Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organised by the 3rd Battalion of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) at its Battalion Headquarters in Kachucherra on Wednesday, 3 December 2025. The event witnessed active participation from officers, jawans and medical professionals, reflecting a strong commitment to public service and humanitarian efforts.
Chief Guest Shri G.S. Rao, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (Armed Police), Tripura, formally inaugurated the programme by watering saplings, symbolising growth and service to society. The event was also graced by Shri Carey Marak, IPS, Inspector General of Police (TSR & Operations); Shri Binoy Kishore Debbarma, Commandant of 3rd Battalion TSR; Shri Kishan Kumar, Commandant, CIATS; Shri Manimoy Chakma, Deputy Commandant, 3rd Battalion TSR; and Shri Uttam Banik, Additional SP, Dhalai district.
A medical team led by Dr. Amit Sharma from Dhalai District Hospital, Kulai, supervised the donation process and ensured all necessary medical protocols were followed. A total of 55 jawans donated blood, including 51 personnel from the 3rd Battalion TSR and 4 from CIATS. The initiative aimed to strengthen the state’s blood reserve and support patients requiring emergency medical care.
Following the blood donation, Shri G.S. Rao felicitated the winners of Volleyball and Kabaddi tournaments organised as part of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He praised the sportsmanship displayed by the participants and encouraged the personnel to continue contributing to community welfare activities.
Officials highlighted that such programmes not only help save lives but also promote awareness regarding the importance of voluntary blood donation. The 3rd Battalion TSR reiterated its commitment to conducting similar initiatives in the future, reinforcing its role in both security and social responsibility.
