Agartala, July 3: In a significant political development, the cabinet of Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha was expanded on Thursday with the induction of Kishore Barman as a new Minister. The oath of office and secrecy was administered by Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu during a formal ceremony held at the Darbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan in Agartala.
The event witnessed the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Saha, senior BJP leaders, and existing cabinet ministers. However, the absence of Ministers and MLAs from the BJP’s coalition partner, Tipra Motha, drew attention, sparking speculation over internal dynamics within the alliance.
Barman’s inclusion is seen as part of the BJP’s effort to strengthen its hold in the state and balance regional and community representations within the council of Ministers ahead of upcoming political challenges.
While the party remained tight-lipped about the reasons behind the Tipra Motha representatives’ absence, political observers believe it may signal emerging tensions or unresolved issues between the alliance partners.
More details regarding Barman’s portfolio and possible reshuffles within the cabinet are expected to be announced soon.
