Agartala: Jan 29: A public rally was organized on the occasion of the state conference of the CPI(M) party at Orient Chowmuhani. The rally saw the presence of prominent leaders, including former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chowdhury, veteran CPI(M) leader Aghore Debbarma, and national coordinator Prakash Karat. The rally attracted a large crowd from various districts of the state.
Addressing the gathering, veteran CPI(M) leader Aghore Debbarma made strong remarks regarding the challenges faced by the party and its supporters. He stated that vehicles transporting people to the rally were deliberately vandalized and stopped at various locations, claiming these actions were a result of the ruling party’s fear. He emphasized that such tactics reflected the ruling party’s insecurity.
Debbarma further criticized the current state of democracy in Tripura, suggesting that since 2018, the common people have been deprived of their democratic rights, with democracy reduced to a mere formality. He pointed out that despite facing obstacles and oppression, the people of Tripura demonstrated their resilience by attending the rally in large numbers, proving their unwavering support for the Left party.
In his speech, Debbarma underscored that this massive turnout was a testament to the faith people have in the Left party, and no amount of oppression or intimidation could silence their voices. The rally, with its strong participation, highlighted the people’s continued trust in the CPI(M) and their determination to stand up for their rights.
