Agartala: Jan 28: CPI(M) posters and decorations are being vandalized across the city. In response, the Leader of the Opposition, Jitendra Chowdhury, has accused the ruling party of such acts. He expressed his dismay, questioning why the BJP, being in power, is obstructing their public gatherings. He appealed to the police to work impartially without being influenced by the BJP.
State politics is heating up ahead of the CPI(M) state conference scheduled for January 29th. After much speculation, the CPI(M) state conference will be held in front of Rabindra Bhavan. The Leader of the Opposition, Jitendra Chowdhury, announced this while addressing the media today.
He stated, “We had requested the government to organize the 24th CPI(M) state conference at Umakant Maidan. But the government has informed us that public gatherings cannot be held as it will disrupt the studies of students. However, it is ironic that there are precedents of the Home Minister holding public meetings and other programs at Umakant School, disrupting the studies of students.” He claimed that the BJP is actually afraid. “But the people cannot be stopped. The public meeting will be held in front of Rabindra Bhavan tomorrow.” He also appealed to the police to work impartially without being influenced by the BJP.
