Agartala: Nov 11: A joint operation was launched today by the Agartala Municipal Corporation, District Police, Transport Department, and Traffic Police to make the city free of traffic congestion. The operation took place at one of the busiest areas in the capital, the Motor Stand.
As part of this drive to keep the city free from traffic jams, small businesses operating illegally on footpaths were given a 24-hour notice by the Agartala Municipal Corporation to vacate their stalls. Business owners were informed that if they do not comply and remove their businesses, their shops will be forcibly dismantled by Tuesday.
In addition, traffic personnel carried out an operation against vehicles that were illegally parked in various parts of the city. Drivers were fined for parking violations, and designated parking zones were assigned to ensure proper vehicle management, as stated by Traffic SP Maniklal Das.
Traffic Police Superintendent Maniklal Das further mentioned that the operation, which began on Monday, was conducted in areas like the Motor Stand and Kaman Chowmuhani. He emphasized that similar operations will continue across the capital to keep Agartala’s streets free from congestion and to ensure smooth traffic flow in the city.
