Agartala: August 23: In response to the severe flood situation in the state, the Food Department has implemented proactive measures to ensure the uninterrupted supply of essential commodities, including petroleum products and LPG cylinders, and to prevent price escalation.
To address these issues and curb black-marketing of essential commodities, a high-level meeting was chaired by Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury today at the conference hall of his office in the Secretariat. Attendees included the Director of the Department of Food Supply and Consumer Welfare, Sub-Divisional Controllers (Food) from all districts of Tripura, representatives from the All Tripura Distributors Association, All Tripura Merchants Association, Potato, Onion and Garlic Merchants Association, Wholesale Groceries Merchants Association, Chamber of Trade and Business, officials and representatives from various market committees, and officials and representatives of IOCL involved in the supply of petroleum products and LPG under Indian Oil Corporation.
