Agartala, July 19: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha has expressed his condolences on the passing of prominent Agartala citizen Sameer Chakraborty. On Friday, the Chief Minister visited Chakraborty’s residence to convey his sympathies to the bereaved family.
Dr. Saha, who had a long professional relationship with the late Chakraborty and his family, paid his last respects despite their differing political ideologies. During his visit, the Chief Minister spoke with family members and close relatives, learning about the late leader’s health issues.
In a statement to the media, Dr. Saha shared that he had known Sameer Chakraborty and his family for many years. He mentioned that Chakraborty and his family were his patients and had a close relationship with his grandfather. Dr. Saha also noted that Chakraborty frequently visited his chamber and the printing press where he wrote.
Dr. Saha revealed that Chakraborty had suffered from various health problems, including high blood sugar, and had undergone surgery. He passed away at ILS Hospital. The Chief Minister expressed his deep sorrow over Chakraborty’s death and extended his condolences to the family, wishing them strength during this difficult time.
