Agartala, July 10 Five more Rohingyas, including two women, were apprehended by the Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel at Agartala railway station on Tuesday night.
The arrests were made following a tip-off about the illegal entry of these individuals from Bangladesh into India.
The detainees were intercepted just before boarding a Guwahati-bound train.
During the preliminary interrogation, they revealed their intention to travel to Hyderabad in search of employment opportunities.
Today they were produced before the court.
The incident underscores ongoing issues related to the illegal migration of Rohingyas, a stateless ethnic group from Myanmar, who have been seeking refuge in various countries, including India and Bangladesh, due to persecution in their home country.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter, assessing the circumstances of the entry and the possible involvement of human trafficking networks.
