Agartala: July 10: Tristar Panchayat Elections in Tripura have been declared immediately. Elections will be held on August 8 and counting day has been fixed on August 12. Tripura State Election Commissioner Sharadindu Chowdhury made the announcement in a press conference at the Secretariat today.
Incidentally, Tripura has 8 Zilla Parishads, 50 Panchayat Samitis and 589 Gram Panchayats under Tristar Panchayat. There are a total of 12 lakh 95 thousand 86 voters in Tristar Panchayat. 6 lakh 59 thousand 13 male, 6 lakh 36 thousand 62 female and 11 voters of the third gender will exercise their right to vote in the panchayat elections in 35 blocks of the state.
On this day, the state election commissioner said that the panchayat election notification will be issued on July 11. He said that the submission of nomination papers will start as soon as the notification is issued.
The last date for submission of nomination papers has been fixed on July 18. Scrutiny is fixed on July 19 and withdrawal of nomination papers on July 22. He said that voting will be held on August 8 and the results will be announced on August 12. He added that the electoral process should be completed by August 17.
