Agartala, Oct 22: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha will inaugurate the annual ‘Mayer Gomon’ programme, marking the culmination of Durga Puja celebrations in the state, in Agartala on Saturday, officials said.
The programme, popularly known as the Durga Puja Carnival, will begin at 5 pm in front of Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ Higher Secondary School, bringing together several puja committees for a ceremonial procession ahead of the immersion of Goddess Durga and her accompanying deities.
The idols will be taken to the Dashamighat area of the Howrah River for immersion, marking the formal conclusion of the Sharadiya festivities.
