AGARTALA, SEPTEMBER 8: The BJP will undertake a month-long nationwide campaign to intensify its grassroots engagement, with national general secretary and MP Biplab Kumar Deb announcing the launch of ‘Seva Sankalp’ from Agartala on Tuesday.
The programme will seek to strengthen the party’s organisational network at the booth level and encourage workers to maintain direct contact with people, Deb said while addressing party workers at the BJP state office.
According to the BJP leader, preparations for the initiative have already been completed following internal consultations. A two-day seminar was also conducted at the party headquarters to familiarise workers with the objectives and operational framework of the programme.
Deb said leaders have been assigned specific responsibilities for implementing the campaign, while its progress will be reviewed through organisational channels at both the state and central levels.
The BJP national general secretary said the initiative was intended to go beyond routine political outreach by encouraging workers to understand local issues and remain connected with people in their respective areas.
While explaining the importance of grassroots experience, Deb referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political journey, noting that he had spent years working within the party organisation before becoming prime minister.
“When a worker rises from the booth level to the top, he carries with him a direct understanding of grassroots realities. That experience becomes invaluable for the entire organization,” Deb said.
He urged BJP workers to treat the programme as an organisational responsibility and maintain sustained engagement with the public during its implementation.
Deb said the campaign would also seek to strengthen coordination between workers at the local level and senior party leadership. He expressed confidence that participation across states would help create fresh momentum within the organisation.
The BJP leader said ‘Seva Sankalp’ was intended to reinforce the party’s emphasis on public service while expanding its organisational presence across different parts of the country.
State and local-level leaders will oversee the implementation of the programme in their respective areas, while senior leadership will monitor its progress during the month-long exercise.
