**Agartala:** BJP National General Secretary and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Monday night held his first high-level meeting with the state party leadership since taking charge of his new organisational responsibility.
The meeting, held at the BJP headquarters in Agartala, marked Deb’s return to Tripura in his capacity as a national general secretary and generated considerable enthusiasm among party workers and supporters.
The discussions focused on organisational matters, upcoming party programmes and measures to further strengthen the BJP’s grassroots network across the state. Leaders also deliberated on the need to maintain coordination between the state leadership and party workers at different levels to consolidate the organisation ahead of future political activities.
Tripura BJP president Abhishek Debroy and other senior party leaders attended the meeting. Debroy highlighted Deb’s organisational experience and his ability to maintain close contact with party workers while shouldering major responsibilities.
Debroy said effective political leadership requires not only the capacity to handle important responsibilities but also a strong connection with grassroots workers. He credited Deb’s direct engagement with party cadres at various levels with contributing significantly to the BJP’s organisational expansion in Tripura.
He further stressed the importance of teamwork and coordination among leaders and grassroots workers, saying that a political organisation can progress when its leadership works collectively and remains connected with its cadre base.
Recalling the BJP’s organisational growth in Tripura during Deb’s tenure as Chief Minister and state-level leader, Debroy described the period as an important chapter in the party’s political journey in the state.
He also noted that while leaders may eventually move away from particular organisational positions, their contributions continue to remain an integral part of the party’s growth and development.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on unity, coordination and organisational discipline among BJP leaders and workers. The leadership also underlined the need to strengthen the party’s presence at the grassroots level and prepare the organisation for upcoming programmes and political challenges.
Deb’s meeting with the state leadership is being viewed as an important organisational interaction following his elevation to the BJP’s national team, with the party focusing on consolidating its network and strengthening coordination across Tripura.
