**Agartala, Aug 30:** Tripura ARDD, Fisheries and SC Welfare Minister Sudhanshu Das on Sunday joined party workers at Krishnanagar Booth No. 10 under Fatikroy Mandal to listen to the 137th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme, **‘Mann Ki Baat’**.
Addressing the gathering after the programme, Das described ‘Mann Ki Baat’ as an important source of encouragement and inspiration for citizens across the country. He said the programme should not be viewed as a political event, but as a national platform through which the Prime Minister communicates directly with people and highlights developments, achievements and inspiring initiatives from different parts of India.
The Minister said the programme often brings attention to lesser-known stories and initiatives that have a positive impact on communities. Referring to the latest episode, he highlighted the launch of the **Bharat Rajya website**, which aims to make information about India’s regional history, rulers and heritage more accessible and interactive for citizens.
Das also spoke about the Prime Minister’s focus on the contribution of women to nation-building. He cited examples of women entrepreneurs who have benefited from government initiatives such as **PM SVANidhi** and various technical training programmes.
According to the Minister, such initiatives are helping women acquire new skills, develop livelihoods and become more financially self-reliant. He said empowering women would play an important role in strengthening families, communities and the wider economy.
Das also highlighted grassroots development initiatives, particularly the **PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana**. He said solar-based power solutions are helping bring electricity to remote and underserved areas and creating new opportunities for rural communities.
Referring specifically to tribal communities in Tripura, the Minister said people belonging to the **Reang community** are among those benefiting from solar power initiatives. He noted that access to renewable energy can support farming, small businesses and other livelihood activities while improving the quality of life in remote areas.
Concluding his remarks, Das reiterated that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is a programme meant for citizens across political and social boundaries. He said the platform encourages people to learn from successful initiatives, participate in nation-building and contribute towards creating a stronger, more united and progressive society.
The gathering was attended by party workers and local supporters who listened to the Prime Minister’s address together.
