Agartala: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting to review key issues concerning electricity services, infrastructure development and the progress of various ongoing projects across Tripura.
Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha and senior officials of the state government and Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) attended the meeting.
According to sources, the Chief Minister held detailed discussions on emerging issues related to the electricity sector and reviewed measures being taken to improve power services in the state. Particular emphasis was laid on ensuring uninterrupted and reliable electricity supply to consumers.
The meeting also reviewed issues concerning the functioning of the power distribution system and the steps required to address difficulties affecting electricity services. Officials briefed the Chief Minister on the prevailing situation and ongoing initiatives in the sector.
Apart from power-related matters, Dr. Saha reviewed the progress of various development projects currently being implemented under the Agartala Smart City initiative. The Chief Minister took stock of the status of ongoing works and discussed issues affecting their implementation.
The meeting also covered the condition, repair and maintenance of national highways as well as roads under the Public Works Department (PWD) across Tripura. Discussions focused on ensuring timely repair and maintenance of important road stretches and addressing infrastructure-related concerns.
Senior officials apprised the Chief Minister of the progress of various works and the challenges encountered during their execution. The need for better coordination among the departments concerned for the timely completion of development and maintenance works was also discussed.
The review meeting broadly focused on accelerating ongoing projects, improving essential public services and addressing issues related to infrastructure development across the state.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of maintaining essential services and ensuring that development projects are implemented efficiently. The meeting provided an opportunity for the government to assess the progress of key initiatives and identify areas requiring further attention.
The discussions are expected to help streamline the implementation of ongoing works in the power, urban development and road infrastructure sectors in Tripura.
