The eighth day of the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)-50, organised by the 13 Tripura Battalion NCC, Agartala, witnessed a blend of discipline, leadership and cultural celebration as senior National Cadet Corps (NCC) officials visited the camp and felicitated outstanding cadets and institutions. The camp is being held at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel in Agartala.
The day’s activities commenced with an energetic morning physical training (PT) session aimed at enhancing the fitness, endurance and discipline of the participating cadets. The camp later received a significant boost with the visit of senior NCC dignitaries, including Additional Director General (ADG), NCC North Eastern Region Directorate, Shillong, Major General Anurag Vij; Group Commander, Silchar Group, Brigadier Anand Raj Singh; Commanding Officer of 13 Tripura Battalion NCC, Colonel N.S. Baath; and Administrative Officer, Colonel Roshan Zameer.
The visiting dignitaries were accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by the NCC cadets, followed by an impressive band display that reflected the cadets’ precision, coordination and discipline. They also toured various training venues within the camp and interacted with the cadets, appreciating their enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to the rigorous training schedule.
The evening concluded with a grand cultural programme featuring vibrant performances by cadets representing the rich cultural diversity of India. Through music, dance and traditional presentations, the participants showcased the spirit of unity in diversity while demonstrating the confidence, creativity and teamwork nurtured during the camp.
A felicitation ceremony was organised to recognise exceptional performances throughout CATC-50. Suraj Kumar Valmiki of ICFAI University, Tripura, was adjudged the Best Cadet, while Belonia Vidyapith received the Best School award. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Udaipur, was honoured as the Best Drill Team, and Mungiabari Higher Secondary School won the Best Firing Team award.
Special recognition for outstanding performance during the academic year 2025-26 was also presented to Under Officer Sagnik Kumar Sinha of MBB College and Under Officer Sagarika Majumder of Ramthakur College.
Congratulating the award winners, the dignitaries encouraged all cadets to continue upholding the values of discipline, leadership, patriotism and selfless service. They also appreciated the efforts of NCC officers, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), PI Staff and camp administrators for successfully organising the training camp, which continues to foster responsible, confident and nation-oriented youth.
