Agartala, May 13:In a major step towards strengthening women’s entrepreneurship and rural livelihoods, the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) has launched a new initiative aimed at supporting aspiring women entrepreneurs across Tripura.
Named the “TRLM Incubator Programme,” the initiative has been designed to empower women associated with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by helping them convert innovative business ideas into sustainable and successful enterprises. Officials said the programme will provide financial and technical support to encourage women to take up entrepreneurial ventures and become self-reliant.
Under the initiative, women-led manufacturing and service enterprises will be eligible for financial assistance of up to Rs. 10 lakh through grants and interest-free loans. The support is expected to help rural women establish and expand small businesses in different sectors.
Apart from financial aid, selected beneficiaries will also receive 18 months of expert mentorship and handholding support. Officials stated that the mentorship programme will guide entrepreneurs in areas such as business planning, product development, marketing strategies, financial management, and enterprise growth.
The initiative is expected to create new livelihood opportunities for women across rural areas of the state while promoting innovation and sustainable income generation.
In a social media post, TRLM encouraged women entrepreneurs to take advantage of the programme. “Whether it’s local products, textiles, food processing, handicrafts, or essential services — this is your chance to grow, innovate, and succeed. Your entrepreneurial dreams matter, and TRLM is ready to support your journey towards self-reliance and sustainable livelihood,” the organisation stated.
Officials said the incubator programme will especially benefit women engaged in traditional crafts, food processing units, weaving, tailoring, and various service-based enterprises by helping them access financial resources and professional guidance.
Meanwhile, TRLM continues to implement several initiatives aimed at empowering women through SHGs, skill development, and entrepreneurship promotion. These efforts are playing a crucial role in improving the socio-economic condition of rural women and enhancing livelihood opportunities in different parts of Tripura.
The latest initiative is being viewed as another significant step towards inclusive growth and women-led economic development in the state.
