Agartala, April 21:
In a development carrying both religious and political significance, Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday joined Manik Saha, and Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu at the consecration ceremony of the Maa Chinmayi Soundarya Temple in West Tripura’s Mohanpur.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief, who arrived in Agartala a day earlier, participated in the Prana Pratishtha rituals held at Fakira Mura, coinciding with the observance of Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti.
The ceremony also featured the sacred Kumbha Abhishekam, drawing a large gathering of devotees and spiritual followers from across the region.
The event witnessed several prominent dignitaries, including later TIPRA Motha party founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder, and Rajmata and former MP Bibhu Kumari Devi, among others.
Significantly, the programme also included a closed-door meeting over breakfast attended by the top leaders, fuelling political interest amid recent tensions.
This marks the first public appearance in recent months where Chief Minister Saha and TIPRA Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore were seen together following a bitter exchange of words during the recently concluded TTAADC elections.
The rare convergence of key political figures at a religious platform is being viewed as a noteworthy moment in Tripura’s evolving political landscape, especially in the backdrop of strained ties between alliance partners during the tribal council polls.
