**Sonamura, Oct 10:** In a shocking turn of events, an elderly man who brutally attacked his wife and daughter-in-law in Bardowal area under Sonamura subdivision was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Friday. The deceased has been identified as **Nurul Islam**, who had gone into hiding after inflicting severe injuries on his family members a day earlier.
According to police sources, the incident occurred on **Thursday afternoon** when Nurul Islam allegedly launched a violent attack on his **wife, Khusnehara Begum**, and **daughter-in-law, Salma Akter**, leaving both women critically injured. The victims sustained deep cuts and multiple lacerations across their bodies and were found bleeding profusely when locals rushed them to **Sonamura Sub-Divisional Hospital** for immediate medical attention.
After receiving primary treatment, the two women were referred to **GB Pant Hospital in Agartala** for advanced care, where they remain hospitalized in serious condition.
