Agartala: June 06:In a significant move aimed at the holistic development of tribal areas in Tripura and to enhance opportunities for higher education among tribal students, the state’s BJP-led government has taken an important initiative. Minister for Tribal Welfare, Bikash Debbarma, recently met Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram, in New Delhi to discuss various developmental needs of the tribal-dominated regions of Tripura.
During the courtesy meeting, Minister Debbarma presented a detailed overview of the ground realities in tribal areas across the state. He highlighted crucial issues including poor road connectivity, lack of adequate electricity supply, and the urgent need for modern educational infrastructure. The focus of the discussion was on ensuring increased participation of tribal students in higher education by improving access and facilities.
Minister Debbarma emphasized that inclusive development is not possible without bringing the tribal communities into the mainstream. He proposed several projects aimed at improving both physical and academic infrastructure in remote tribal belts. Shri Jual Oram, after listening carefully, expressed his commitment to supporting Tripura’s development efforts. He assured that the Centre will extend all possible assistance for the upliftment of tribal regions in the state.
This meeting reflects a shared vision between the state and central governments to empower tribal communities and ensure their active participation in the country’s progress. Minister Debbarma’s efforts underscore a powerful message — that even the remotest corners of Tripura deserve equal development opportunities and educational growth.
The initiative marks a crucial step in realizing the dream of a more inclusive Tripura, where tribal youth are equipped to become future leaders through access to quality education and better infrastructure.
