Agartala: Dec 18: In protest against the corruption of the central government, the Indian National Congress (INC) has launched a nationwide campaign. As part of this movement, the Congress Party from Tripura, under the direction of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), organized a Raj Bhavan march today. The march began from the Agartala Press Club and proceeded to the Circuit House, where a meeting was held to discuss the state and central government’s various acts of corruption.
Speaking to the media during a press conference at the Pradesh Congress office, PCC President Ashish Kumar Saha and spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty outlined the details of the Raj Bhavan march. This demonstration is part of a broader strategy to raise awareness and protest against the growing instances of corruption at both the central and state levels.
Ashish Kumar Saha addressed the media, criticizing Prime Minister Modi for his silence on crucial issues. He particularly mentioned the economic corruption and fraud associated with business tycoon Adani, as well as the ongoing ethnic violence in Manipur. Despite these significant issues, the Prime Minister has not commented or taken any decisive action. The central government’s lack of response, particularly regarding the ongoing communal violence in Manipur, has been a major point of contention.
The Congress Party is planning a series of protests across the country, including deputations to the Governors in each state and Union Territory. These efforts are aimed at raising public awareness about the corruption scandals involving Modi and Adani, as well as the violent unrest in Manipur, which has continued for nearly 18 months without any intervention from the Prime Minister.
Ashish Kumar Saha emphasized that the Congress Party is determined to unite the people of the country to fight against the economic crisis and corruption, urging for collective action to hold the government accountable.
