Agartala: December 31: Finally one accused was caught in the police net. Police of Dharmanagar police station arrested the accused from Ashram Palli area of Kumarghat on Sunday in connection with the attempt to kill his wife and three children by setting fire to him in Ward No. 4 area of Algapur on Saturday morning. The name of the accused is Biplab Chakraborty.
It is to be noted that Biplab Chakraborty came with a bike that night and set fire to the living room after an eyewitness confessed, based on that confession, Dharmanagar police station arrested Biplab Chakraborty from Ashrampalli of Kumarghat.
It should be noted that Biplab Chakraborty’s own house is in Kumarghat ashram village. The number of the bike is TR 05 F 74 93. There has been a strong reaction of the people of the area based on such incidents.
Demands have been raised to take strict penal action against the accused as per law. People of good sense are of the opinion that if strict action is not taken against those involved in the incident, such incidents may be repeated in the society.
