Agartala, November 2:In a gathering attended by community chiefs and leaders from diverse ethnic groups at Agartala’s Manikya Court, Pradyot Kishore Deb Barma, the founder of TIPRA Motha and head of the royal family of Tripura, emphasized the need for indigenous communities in Tripura to unite and work together towards achieving their constitutional rights and socioeconomic progress.
He urged people to set aside their differences and jealousy in order to uplift indigenous communities, especially those residing in remote areas, from their current state of poverty.
This gathering, known as ‘Asom Bhojan,’ is a tradition of the royal times that Pradyot Kishore has revived, bringing community leaders together to discuss their issues and felicitate them.
Drawing attention to the ongoing conflict in Manipur between the Maite and Kuki communities, Pradyot stressed that violence serves no one and leads to long-term consequences.
He emphasized that coming together is crucial for mutual understanding, development, and overcoming jealousy, which he called the greatest enemy of humanity.
Community leaders appreciated Pradyot’s efforts and believed that such initiatives are essential for preserving the rich heritage and culture for future generations.
