Agartala September 5: Ruling party BJP has not learned any lesson after losing public support in 2023 assembly elections. Like the by-elections of four assembly constituencies in 2022, the by-elections of 23 Dhanpur and 20 Boxanagar assembly constituencies have made a farce today. The ruling BJP tried to take advantage of how to strangle democracy without restoring it. And this farce is done by Superintendent of Police Reddy of Sepahijala district.
In this incident, even the District Magistrate of Sepahijala district, Dr. Bishal Kumar, could not keep his spine straight. Therefore immediate removal of the District Superintendent of Police from Sipahizla and full re-polling of the two assemblies at the center is demanded. And a letter has been given to the Election Commission for this. CPIM party secretary Jitendra Chowdhury said this at a press conference from the CPIM state committee office after the polls on Tuesday. He said that the ruling party has rigged and rigged votes in two assembly constituencies since seven o’clock in the morning. The faces of those involved in the incident have been circulated on social media. Jitendra Chowdhury demanded that the Election Commission take strict action against them. Meanwhile, in this press conference organized by the Left Front, convener Narayan Kar said that the ruling party BJP brought outsiders in two assembly constituencies after the campaign was over. The incident took place on polling day with around 2,000 outsiders led by MLAs. And from the end of the campaign to the polls, the ruling party has organized all kinds of terror from house to house attacks, threats, intimidation. And the CEO, SP and the police of two local police stations were informed about this before the vote.
But even then the by-elections of the two centers were not peaceful. And directly they raised their fingers against minister Bikas Debbarma. Minister Bikas Debbarma has broken the election code of conduct. And the CEO was informed about it. The ruling party has tried to lure people knowing that they cannot win the two assembly constituencies and broke the Model Code of Conduct by paying Rs 5,000 to SSGs, Rs 1,000 to Anganwadi workers and Rs 2,000 to Sarees, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh workers before the polls. MLAs walk around with money in their pockets. And the entire vote created an atmosphere of unrest. Therefore, the Left Front is asking for re-voting, said Narayan Kar. Former minister Bhanu Lal Saha, former minister Manik Dey and other leaders were also present in the organized press conference.
