Agartala September 5: The by-polls to the two assembly constituencies ended peacefully except for a few incidents, complaints and counter-complaints on both sides of the opposition. 89.2 percent voting in Boxanagar and 83.92 percent in Dhanpur. On this day, polling for two constituencies was taken in about 110 centers. Voting started from seven in the morning.
Voting continues in some polling stations even after the specified time. Voting took place under tight security. Long queues of voters can be seen at various polling stations since morning. Although polling was conducted early in the morning by the opposition, allegations of voter obstruction surfaced. The ruling party turned the vote into a farce by bringing in outsiders. The main fight in these two assembly constituencies is between BJP and CPM candidates. Both men and women exercised their democratic rights standing in long queues in Dhanpur and Boxanagar assembly constituencies.
The candidates of the two constituencies voted in their respective assembly constituencies. After voting they expressed their reaction. Sporadic incidents also occurred in some places of the two constituencies. Some BJP workers were infected in Dhanpur. 89.2 percent voting in Boxanagar after the scheduled time. On the other hand, 83.92 percent votes were cast in Dhanpur. After taking the votes on this day, the poll workers brought the EVMs and deposited them in the strong room and counting of votes on September 8. The EVMs will be locked in the strong room under tight security for two days.
