Agartala, July 4:In a tragic incident two girl child died due to drowning on Tuesday and which left the entire Khowai district of Tripura mourning.
The incident occurred in the tribal hamlet Mangaljoy Para in Teliamura subdivision.
The deceased has been identified as Elisa Rupini (4 years, 7 months old) and Emi Debbarma (4 years old) and while playing near their house both accidentally fell into a pond and drowned.
On realizing the incident, locals villagers rescued the children out of the water and immediately rushed them to the Teliamura hospital where attending doctor declared them brought dead.
Despite the desperate attempts of the grieving parents to revive their lifeless bodies, their efforts were in vain, and the wails of their loss filled the air.
The anguished cries of the bereaved parents echoed through Teliamura hospital.
The news of this incident has cast a shadow of grief over the entire Mangaljoy Para area.
The lifeless bodies of the two girls are currently at Teliamura hospital and shall be released after post-mortem.
