Agartala: June 28: NESO suspects ‘hidden agenda’ behind protracted violence in Manipur and Prime Minister’s silence; the same hindering peace process .
The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) has expressed disappointment over the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi even as the North East state of Manipur is burning since May 3. NESO this evening organised a cadle light vigil in front of Vivekananda Maidan, North Gate where general public lighted candles praying for restoration of peace in Manipur.
Several people gathered to take part in the vigil praying for the victims of the clashes, both killed and those who managed to survive.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines, NESO Advisor Sinam Prakash expressed their sadness over the loss of lives and properties during the course of the violence in Manipur. He said that NESO prays for the victims of violence and also for restoration of peace in the strife-torn state.
He maintained that NESO suspects a ‘hidden agenda’ behind the protracted violence in the state and the silence of the prime minister and the same is hindering the restoration of peace in the state.
