Agartala, June 12: BJP national president J P Nadda would arrive here on June 17 to join a mega rally to mark nine years celebration of Narendra Modi government at the Centre, party sources said.
The party has already kicked start a month long programmes across to mark the occasion. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee on Sunday held a meeting with Ministers and senior party leaders to make the rally a grand success.
Although it was not officially declared the venue for the rally, it appears that Nadda will hold the mega rally in South Tripura’s Santirbazar school ground. The party karyakartas have already begun process to prepare the venue.
Among others, speaker Biswabandhu Sen, deputy speaker Ramprasad Paul, two general secretries- Papia Dutta and Tinku Roy remained present in the meeting.
Sources claimed, the rally will officily kick start the BJP campaign for the Parliamentary elections scheduled to be held in early next years. Interestingly, party’s two MPs- Pratima Bhaumik, who is also the union minister and Rebati Tripura were not seen in the meeting. Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb, who is party prabhari for Haryana was not present in the meeting.
