Five Rohingyas, who had illegally crossed inside India from Bangladesh, were arrested by the Tripura Police from Dharmanagar rail station in North Tripura district on Friday said police.
Those arrested consisted of three men and two women and have been identified as Aman Ullah, Mohammed Shah, Mohammed Ahesas, Rozina Begum and Nur Kalima.
They were waiting to bound a train and their destination was Jammu said Mohammed Ahesas, one of the arrested Rohingya.
He added that they were inmates of the Kutupalang refugee camp in Cox’s Bazaar of Bangladesh and had crossed the border on May 17.
Another arrested Rohingya, Aman Ullah said that they had entered India with the help of two Bangladeshi and two Indian brokers.
He added that they had paid Bangladesh taka 25000 for each person, in exchange they help them to cross the border through Comilla (in Bangladesh) and provided them with fake AADHAR cards.
Aman informed that one more lady Ruksar Bebi was with them but she had fled with a broker who was accompanying them from Agartala.
Again Rozina Begum, one of arrested women said that they are originally citizens of Myanmar’s Salbagan and with the help of one Mohammad Alam (broker) they crossed the border and who had provided them with fake AADHAR card in Bangladesh.
She added that all total six of them had come to Dharmanagar on May 18 and one more woman who was accompanying them had gone away with one of the broker.
Rozina said that her maternal uncle stays there at Jammu and was suppose to go there.
Fake AADHAR cards were recovered from their possession and further investigation is underway as police are interrogating them.
