Agartala: Jan 01: Congress has welcomed CPM’s decision on seat raffling in Tripura assembly elections. The Tipra Matha also said it would consider a seat rafah with the CPM if it gets a written assurance of a constitutional solution to the Greater Tipraland claim. BJP claims, Congress’s secret collusion with CPM is now coming to light. They have fooled people before. People will give qualified answers in elections.
Incidentally, in Tripura, the CPM is seeking seat-sharing between the Congress and Tipra Matha in the upcoming assembly elections. The state committee meeting sealed the matter. Today, CPM state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury said that he will discuss the seat Rafa with Congress and CPM.
In this regard, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman said that CPM has taken a very good decision regarding seat raffling. All democratic non-communal forces must unite for the sake of the people of Tripura because; he needs enough to defeat the communal and anti-people BJP.
On this day, the chairman of Tipra Matha and MDC Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman said that the CPM has not yet formally discussed about seat raffling in the assembly elections. However, I would welcome CPM’s decision to give a written assurance in support of Greater Tipraland. In his words, I want justice for long deprivation in Tripura. The central government has always ignored the demands of the people. He did politics only in the name of religion and caste. Now if the CPM wants to vacate the seat in the election by supporting our demand, it will definitely be considered, he said.
Meanwhile, the ruling BJP has termed the CPM’s decision as an attempt to fool people. BJP state president Rajeev Bhattacharya said that the relationship between Congress and CPM is not new. Their opportunistic politics to fool people. He claimed that CPM ruled Tripura for 25 years with the help of Congress. Earlier they were secretly in love, now it has come out in the open. But, the people will give their befitting reply in the assembly elections, he asserted. According to political circles, the political equation in Tripura is going to change very soon in the assembly elections. Which party will ultimately benefit in this case, cannot be guessed at this point. However, judging from the past experience, the ruling party BJP is still in a very advantageous position.
