Tripura occupies the second position in rubber cultivation in the entire country. The country needs to produce 12 lakh tonnes of rubber annually. All about one lakh tonnes of rubber is produced in Tripura. Out of this Sepahijala district produces the most rubber. About 17 thousand hectares of rubber is being cultivated. He said that we have to look at how to increase rubber cultivation. Extensive discussion with the Chief Minister on the issue of furniture has become one of the most important in rubber cultivation. The revenue of the state can be increased through furniture because the demand for rubber furniture is huge in the foreign market. Therefore, more attention will be given to rubber products including its furniture. He also said that rubber cultivation has increased in Tripura in the last five years.
